Term Dates for West Northamptonshire schools for the 2023-24 academic year

Overview

West Northamptonshire Council is now consulting on proposed term dates for Community and Voluntary Controlled schools for the 2023-24 academic year.

The consultation will run from Monday 7 March 2022 – Sunday 3 April 2022.

Please note that Academies, Free, Foundation and Voluntary Aided schools can set their term dates, although they may choose to adopt those used by the local authority.

The proposed term dates are as follows:

Autumn term 2023

Friday 1 September to Wednesday 20 December

• Half term holiday: Monday 23 October to Friday 27 October 
• Christmas holiday: Thursday 21 December to Wednesday 3 January 
• Bank holiday: Monday 1 January 2024

Spring term 2024

Thursday 4 January to Thursday 28 March

• Half term holiday: Monday 19 February to Friday 23 February
• Easter holiday: Tuesday 2 April to Friday 12 April 
• Bank holidays: Friday 29 March and Monday 1 April

Summer term 2024

Monday 15 April to Monday 22 July

• Half term holiday: Monday 27 May to Friday 31 May
• Summer holiday: Tuesday 23 July to Friday 31 August
• Bank holidays: Monday 6 May and Monday 27 May

The total number of pupil days includes five days to be selected by schools as additional INSET days:

• Pupil days: 190 school days
• Teacher days: 195 school days
