Term Dates for West Northamptonshire schools for the 2025-26 academic year

Overview

West Northamptonshire Council is now consulting on proposed term dates for Community and Voluntary Controlled schools for the 2025-26 academic year.

The consultation will run from Monday 4 December 2023 to Sunday 31 December 2023.

Please note that Academies, Free, Foundation and Voluntary Aided schools can set their own term dates, although they may choose to adopt those used by the local authority.

The proposed term dates are as follows:

Autumn term 2025

Monday 1 September 2025 to Friday 19 December 2025

• Half term holiday: Monday 27 October 2025 to Friday 31 October 2025
• Christmas holiday: Monday 22 December 2025 to Friday 2 January 2026

Spring term 2026

Monday 5 January 2026 to Friday 27 March 2026

• Half term holiday: Monday 16 February to Friday 20 February 2026
• Easter holiday: Monday 30 March to Friday 10 April 2026
• Bank holidays: Friday 3 April and Monday 6 April 2026

Summer term 2026

Monday 13 April to Monday 20 July 2026

• Half term holiday: Monday 25 May to Friday 29 May 2026
• Summer holiday: Tuesday 21 July to Friday 28 August 2026
• Bank holidays: Monday 4 May and Monday 31 August 2026

The total number of pupil days includes five days to be selected by schools as additional INSET days:

• Pupil days: 190 school days
• Teacher days: 195 school days
