A one-way street is in place to manage traffic flow by allowing vehicles to travel in a single direction, which improves efficiency, reduces congestion, and increases safety. By eliminating oncoming traffic, one-way systems can help vehicles move more quickly and continuously.

Abington Street, between Wellington Street and St Giles Terrace, is being proposed at the request of our partners/stakeholders to improve road safety primarily for pedestrians and other road users.
