A one-way street is in place to manage traffic flow by allowing vehicles to travel in a single direction, which improves efficiency, reduces congestion, and increases safety. By eliminating oncoming traffic, one-way systems can help vehicles move more quickly and continuously.

St Giles Square, between Wood Hill and Derngate, is being proposed at the request of our partners and stakeholders to improve road safety primarily for pedestrians and other road users.
