We asked

We conducted a study and asked residents and others with a local connection (through past residence, close family, or employment) to the Parish of Naseby to complete a survey about housing needs and requirements. This work helps to understand the kind of housing needed in the area. The information provided is vital in producing a balanced picture of housing circumstances as well as informing future housing and planning policies. This work was undertaken with the support and assistance of the Parish Council.

A Housing Needs Survey was carried out in Naseby Parish between 12th July and 8th August 2021. There were 45 individual responses received, equating to 14% of the population of the Parish. 33% of all respondents confirmed that they have or may have (in the next five years) a housing need, the need being mainly for market and affordable homes.

We did

Following the collection and analysis of the Naseby Parish Housing Needs Survey, a report has been developed, shared with the Parish Council, and has been recently published. The report is available at: westnorthants-housing-needs-surveys

Overview

West Northamptonshire Council is conducting a housing needs survey in your area, and you are invited to take part.

We are carrying out an important study of the housing needs and requirements of all residents who have a close connection to Naseby parish through current or past residency, work or close family.

We would be grateful if you would take the time to complete this survey, even if you do not require alternative housing, not currently thinking of moving or are already registered for a move through the Council's housing register.

The survey is divided into three main sections:

  • Section 1 – Your home and household
  • Section 2 – Your household and Naseby parish
  • Section 3 – About your housing need. This section is to be completed if you, or member of your household, may require alternative accommodation within the next five years

You will be asked a series of questions on your thoughts about the current level of housing in your area, what you think is needed, and if you have a need for alternative housing, what your preference is based on what you can afford.

The study will help to find out what kind of housing is needed in the area and is vital in giving a balanced picture of housing circumstances as well as informing future housing and planning policies.

If there is more than one member of you household that will or may require alternative accommodation, therefore needing to form another separate household, they are also invited to complete a separate survey – a separate reference number will be required (from the Council using the contact details below) beforehand.

This survey will run from Monday 12 July to midnight on Monday 9 August 2021.

If you have any questions or enquiries about the survey, please contact the Housing Strategy Team (Daventry area) via email housingstrategy.ddc@westnorthants.gov.uk or telephone 0300 126 7000.

For information about how responses to housing needs surveys are managed, please see the housing needs survey privacy notice.

What happens next

The results to this survey will be collected and analysed in a report which will be made available to view online.
