Have your say on Wantage Park Crematorium Facility

Overview

West Northamptonshire Council wants to develop a state of the art and sustainable new crematorium facility on land at Wantage Farm, in the Round Spinney area of Northampton. 

We are asking for your views on it proposed designs before a formal planning application is submitted in November 2024.

Background

The Wantage Park site will become a vital part of the West Northamptonshire community, the proposal offers a modern crematorium, ceremonial spaces, and a welcoming café for visitors.

The facility will aim to: 

• Meet the growing needs of our population while providing a peaceful and respectful environment for bereavement services,
• Bring benefits to the local community, with the surrounding land transformed into natural open spaces, including walking paths and green areas,  
• Bring infrastructure improvements, including a new independent access road and enhanced public footpaths, 
• Support local biodiversity, enhancing the natural beauty of the area and providing a peaceful setting for visitors. 

How will feedback be used?

The feedback we receive will be considered and will help the council to shape, adapt and prepare the final scheme designs. These will then form part of the planning application submitted to the Council for consideration. 

As part of the formal planning application process, residents and stakeholders will have a further opportunity to view and comment on the application when this is submitted this November (2024).
