Marefair Heritage Park Consultation, Northampton
Overview
We have secured £1.5m from the Government’s Towns Fund to transform Chalk Lane Car Park in Marefair into a Heritage Park.
This will redefine the entrance to the town centre from the train station, offer open green space for families and the local community to enjoy while celebrating the heritage of the area.
Marefair and the surrounding area has a fascinating and important history, and this site is on the boundary of the once famous Northampton Castle, a once favourite of King John. The Castle Mound, where part of the Castle used to stand, forms part of this new Heritage Park.
This Heritage Park will deliver new green space, trees, play areas, community gardens, pathways and lighting. We would love to hear from you and get your feedback on this exiting project.
