Have your say on delivering infrastructure and services to help mitigate development

Overview

We are asking for your views on a new planning document called the Infrastructure and Developer Contributions Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).  

This draft document sets out how the Council will ask developers to mitigate the impacts of their developments and contribute to things like: 

• Roads and transport improvements 

• Schools and education 

• Health services 

• Parks and open spaces 

• Waste and recycling 

• Affordable housing 

• Emergency services 

• Community facilities 

These contributions help make sure that new developments are supported by the right infrastructure and services, so that communities can grow in a fair and sustainable way.

Why are we consulting? 

We want to make sure the SPD is clear, fair, and works well for everyone, including residents, developers, service providers, and community groups. Your feedback will help us improve the document before it is finalised. 

What happens next

After the consultation, we’ll review all feedback and use it to shape the final version of the document which will be considered for adoption by the Council’s Planning Policy Committee early in the new year. Consultation feedback will also be reported to that meeting.
