Overview
Three Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) are being proposed in the Spring Boroughs area of Northampton which aim to increase the number of available parking spaces.
West Northamptonshire Council’s Community Safety and Engagement Team has worked with groups in the Spring Boroughs area of Northampton to consider changes to Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs).
This has resulted in a number of proposals which aim to increase the number of parking spaces that are available while ensuring that restrictions are both legal and enforceable:
- SB01: Castle Hill / Chalk Lane
- SB02: Bath Street, Chalk Lane, Fort Place, Herbert Street, Little Cross Street, Lower Cross Street, Moat Place, Upper Cross Street and Spring Lane
- SB03: Crispin Street
Please consider the proposals and share your views with us. You can respond to all three TROs or just one or two of them.
To view all the proposals, please read through the survey supporting information.
Proposals which are supported by more than half of those who respond will be further assessed as part of Northamptonshire Highways’ Annual Parking Review Process (in August, date TBC). This process includes consultation with the public, stakeholders and councillors, and allows all parties the opportunity to object before any amendments are made or ground works started.
This survey will run from Monday 17 May to midnight on Sunday 13 June 2021.
If you have any questions or enquiries about the survey, please contact Aimee Luck, Community Safety and Engagement Project Officer, via email at aimee.luck@westnorthants.gov.uk or by phone on 07557496415.
For information about how consultation and engagement responses are managed, please see the consultation and engagement privacy notice.
What happens next
The feedback provided will be reviewed to determine which proposals have the support of residents and other street users. Those with support will be put forward for consideration to the Traffic Regulations and Parking Annual Review, taking place in August (date TBC).
The list of proposals for submission will be shared ahead of the Traffic Regulations and Parking Annual Review.
